“I will never use an estate agent again!”
Nicholas Turner from Saffron Walden in Essex recalls his
experience…
“We needed a bigger house and decided to sell
privately after a previously unsuccessful attempt to sell
through an estate agent. I didn’t wish to part with so much
cash for someone to act as a post office.
I reviewed a number of sites on the web and thought HouseWeb
to be the best. The advert was quick and simple to set up and I
sold in 8 weeks! Incidentally the first call that I had came one
hour after my advert went live. We were still receiving
enquiries after the property was sold.
We accepted an offer which was less than the original estate
agent valuation but £5k more than the anticipated selling
price.
I have now decided that I will never use an estate
agent again! I would suggest that anybody who considers doing so
is either very rich or possibly mad…
My other advice is to use a “For Sale board” in
conjunction with your HouseWeb advert. Don’t under
estimate the potential of passing trade.”
