“We
had an investment property and were not happy with the
management company. So we decided that we could do without the
hassle of finding another company and that the time had come to
sell.
We
decided to sell privately straight away as wanted to keep costs
down and are never happy about what estate agents do
for the vast sums of money they charge. We had no
reservations, despite the fact we hadn’t done it before, as it
was not important whether or not it was sold.
We
came across HouseWeb on the Fish4homes site and thought it
looked like a good service. Doing the advert on their website
was easy, including putting the pictures on. A very helpful lady
on phone helped me to tie everything up together.
We
chose the Deluxe package as it gave our advert exposure on
Fish4, HotProperty and lots of other sites. We also bought a For
Sale Board, but to be honest never got around to putting it up
so no enquiries from there. In retrospect I think that was a
mistake as I’m sure we would have had more enquires, but as it
turned out selling a year later had benefits for us.
I
valued the property myself based on a flat that had recently
been sold, sold for £91,500 a year later and saved about £1,300.
The whole process was definitely less stressful than using an
estate agent, because I felt in control. No problems at all. I
would challenge any estate to tell me what service they offer
people to justify all the extra cost.
I
would definitely use HouseWeb again if I ever sell my own house
and would put the board out next time!”
