”The property I sold through HouseWeb was a second investment
property, rather than my main residence. With the current
market situation, I was worried that property prices may start
to fall and so I thought it prudent to sell, rather than wait
and perhaps lose the profit I had made.
As I hadn’t sold a property privately before, I was all set to
put the house on with an agent but then about a week prior to
placing the ad I had thoughts of selling privately. My
main reasons were because I did not want an agent involved and
secondly because I believe the process is simpler without one.
Once
I’d made the decision, I had no reservations at all. I did a
quick search on the Internet, came across HouseWeb which looked
as good a site as any, and which proved very easy to use.
Amazingly
the first people who viewed, bought and after 3/4 weeks the

less stressful using HouseWeb than it could have been using an
agent.
I
think with an agent the local coverage may be good but in the
age of the internet, web sites are up and coming and can do as
good a job. Agents beware, the good times for you are
limited!!!
My tips for selling over the internet are to be honest and if
you really want to sell quickly, be competitive. Good
photos and write up are extremely important.
