I am about to redo my (very small) bathroom. Would it detract from the value/saleability of the property if I was to refit the bathroom as a shower room, rather than having a bath and a shower? I don't usually use the bath, only the shower. With a bath, the room is quite cramped but as a shower room it could be quite spacious.

Hi Koopa,
I wouldn't remove the bath if you want to retain the value in the property. This is one feature you really do need to keep.

Make sure you invest in some decent shower curtain rings.

If you really want to increase home value, add a simple shower panel like this one from Wasauna: Steam Shower Panel
We bought a couple of these two years ago and they make a nice addition to our bathrooms.

I had a job on for a client last week who was in a similar situation as yourself and he decided on fitted one of these walk in showers and I must say it fitted perfect in his bathroom and gave him the extra space he needed.
