Life Assurance - Providing Medical Information

You will find that the level of medical information a company requires changes with the level and complexity of the policy. The company will make certain requests from you until they feel they have enough information to offer you the policy.

At the basic level they will ask you to answer a Medical Conditions Questions (MCQ).

Should they require further information, they will approach your doctor (GP) and request a Medical Attendant's Report (MAR).

Following this, a Medical Examination (ME) may be necessary. A doctor appointed by the Insurance company will usually take the examination.

In particular cases where the company feels an individual is very high risk, they may ask for further information. The Insurance company will fund any investigations that they make.
